Flake Epoxy Flooring
Flake epoxy (also called chip or vinyl flake) is Adelaide’s most popular decorative flooring system. Coloured vinyl flakes are broadcast into a wet epoxy base coat, then sealed with a clear topcoat to create a durable, textured surface that hides imperfections and provides excellent slip resistance.
How It Works
The system consists of three layers: a coloured epoxy base coat, a full or partial broadcast of decorative vinyl flakes, and a clear polyurethane or polyaspartic topcoat. The result is a seamless, easy-to-clean surface with a subtle texture.
Best Applications
- Residential garages and carports
- Commercial showrooms and retail spaces
- Laundries, mudrooms, and utility areas
- Workshops and hobby spaces
Colour Options
Flake blends come in dozens of colour combinations — from classic granite and quartz to custom blends that match your brand colours. Popular Adelaide choices include Storm (grey/white/black), Outback (tan/brown/cream), and Ocean (blue/grey/white).
Pricing
Flake epoxy systems typically cost $45–$75 per square metre installed, depending on the flake density and topcoat system selected.
